A tour around the centre of the city to get to know the most significant landmarks, some of which are from the rubber boom (subject to arrival time)
Transfer to the lodge by boat down the Amazon. Floating houses. Visit the ‘paiche’ farm – the largest fresh water fish; during the transfer we will note various different communities on the banks of the Amazon. Arriving to the lodge we will be welcomed with a local drink and will find our rooms. Three nights in the Amazon Lodge with full board. Take the ‘medicinal plant’ walk and get to know ‘uña de gato’, ‘sangre de grado’ and ‘clavo huasca’ amongst others. Enjoy spectacular views of the Amazon from a well placed viewpoint and finish the day with a night walk to see tarantulas, insects. Night at Lodge.

See the local birds in their natural habitat (by canoe from November to July or walking from July to November). Take a walk deep into the jungle to find the giant trees – including the voluptuous and impressive Ceiba-Lupuna. Take in the local flora and fauna. Visit to a small zoo to see the anacondas, some species of monkeys among other animals. Take a night trip in a canoe around the lodge and enjoy the sounds of the forest at night. After breakfast take a ride to the Napo River mouth. Visit the ‘Canal Pinto’ town (November to June) to get to see the everyday life of the community. Visit the ‘Orellana’ district, named this in honour to the discoverer of the Amazon River, 1542. Observation of the union of the Amazon (brown water) and the Napo (black water) river, there, we will get to watch gray and pink dolphin. Recreative fishing of sardines, catfish, and the legendary piranhas. Lunch on board or at the lodge, is up to the passenger. Night at Lodge
