For Single room add U$ 30.00 more Description: If you plan to visit Cuzco, we offer this alternative to get to know our jungle, Puerto Maldonado is next to the Cuzco City and has a airline connection. Location: This Lodge is located in the Department of Madre de Dios and the city of Puerto Maldonado is the capital of this department towards the south-west of the country adjacent to the Department of Cuzco. Access: Both from Lima and from Cuzco, our archeological capital, this department can be best reached by air. The roads of this zone are not very recommendable because of the heavy vegetation and there are no highways. Facilities: This Lodge has a perfect infrastructure to enjoy the marvelous scenery of being in direct contact with nature and our immense Amazon Jungle. The rooms are of semi-rustic material with private bath and above the ground, however with sufficient commodities. We also offer the services of a restaurant, bar, specialized library, outlook from where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the site and unique excursions.
A walk to the Monkey Island, about 5 minutes from the Lodge, where we will enjoy the marvelous landscape with its exuberant flora and fauna and the most different types of monkeys, such as Maquisapas, Martin, Leoncitos, Frailes, Achunis, Ronsocos, etc. and a great variety of birds. We will watch the sunset. Night tours. Dinner. Stay overnight.
Lago Cocha Perdida: A beautiful lake with a refuge ecosystem for animals such as otters, alligators, turtles, Sachavacas, birds with multicolored feathers, jaguars and many different fishes. This unique area is part of the Lodge and the swamps and water holes are kept untouched. We will reach the outlook of the Lodge, built on top of the highest tree of the jungle, the Shihuahuaco. Canoe ride around the lake and return to the Lodge. Lago Apu Victor: During our walk we cross hanging bridges over swamps and visit the Cueva de Caimanes (alligator cave) until we reach this lake with crystal clear water surrounded by immense swamps and giant trees. We also visit the outlook of the Lodge and will watch parrots, macaws, toucans, herons, alligators, turtles and giant otters. Return to the Lodge. After returning from the chosen excursion, we will have lunch at the Lodge. In the afternoon a ride on the river to watch the sunset and visit a local native community. Return to the Lodge. Night tours. Dinner and overnight
We will visit by canoa ride the Madre de Dios River and then we will walk to the Gamitana River, that is a very important river of the Peruvian Jungle and will see many flora and fauna of the zone. We return to the Lodge by canoa ride and see Turtles ,butterflies and alligators. Return to the Lodge. Dinner and Overnight.
